Research experience and services

As a doctoral student and after I received my PhD from UC Berkeley, I conducted over a decade of ethnographic research in Cuba, establishing relationships with and interviewing dozens of musicians and groups, networking with local scholars and state cultural officials, and conducting archival research at various Cuban institutions.
As a freelance qualitative researcher, I have consulted on several projects—including one for the Institute for Scientific Analysis in Alameda, CA—and offer a range of services, including design and implementation of online surveys and qualitative analysis.
